 Sierra Club & ReVision Partnership!

To support our important environmental advocacy and education work, ReVision Energy will make a donation for each solar system (depending on the size of the system) purchased by a Sierra Club supporter.

To get started, click HERE to schedule a free appointment with ReVision for an estimate for a photovoltaic and/or hot water solar system for your home or business.

Thanks for doing your part for cleaner energy in Maine and helping to support the Sierra Club by going solar!

What

Sunday River Swim and Step Falls Hike

Description

Sunday River Swim - Depending on the river’s meandering and winter’s erosion, we will pick the best beach area long this cool mountain river. Be it at letter S turn or Frenchman’s Hole – there is nothing better on a hot summer day.

Step Falls Hike

Wright Brook offers a long series of steep cascades and shutes at this area just south of Grafton Notch State Park.  A family friendly area, it is situated on a 24-acre property managed by the Mahoosuc Land Trust, a local organization dedicated to “protecting and conserving land and traditional land uses.” Step Falls also has numerous shallow pools, many of which offer fine places to wade and, in the slightly deeper of the pools, swim. The yellow-tinted water in the pools has a very clear and clean appearance.  A short hike along the falls leads to the top where rock ledges are great for picnicking.

What

Bickford Slides Hike, Evans Notch Wt. Mt. National Forest

Description

Bickford Brook has distinctive falls worth bringing you camera for.  Evans Notch, to this leader’s mind, is one of the most beautifully places in Maine.  The pastoral landscape on the drive to the trail head is reminiscent of by gone days, surely the

‘‘way life should be.”   This approximately 3 mile hike with an elevation of 400 feet terminates at the upper falls with an inviting pool below on a hot summer day.  Other trails leading to Ames and Speckled Mountains are along the trail.  Speckled Mountain being in the only real mountained, designated Wilderness Area in Maine.

What

Borestone Mountain Hike

Description

In the heart of The Moosehead Lake Region, Borestone MT land was donated in 1984 to the Audubon Society where the also manage a nature center halfway up the mountain. This is a gem of a mountain in the Hundred Mile Wilderness area while the forest has remained uncut for a century.

The nature center area variety of exhibits about the plants and animals that can be seen. The trail after the nature center rises rather steeply and there are rocks which need to climb over before reaching the summit.  Hiking poles will be a good thing to bring along with water and food.   A side walk could be Big Wilson Stream and Falls.
